Remote Learning Applications

The WPS Instructional Technology Specialists have created this collection of applications that will help you share content with your students remotely. Although there are MANY ways to accomplish remote learning, these are a few of the most effective and familiar applications for students and teachers.

Web Conferencing

Google Meet - 'Meet' takes the headaches out of joining a video. Just set up a Meet and share a link. With a fast, lightweight interface and smart participant management, multi-person video calls are a breeze.

Canvas Conferences - Conferences in Canvas makes it easy to conduct synchronous (real-time) lectures/instruction OR recorded lectures/instruction for all users in a course. Share your screen, moderate conversation, open a notepad for shared notes/brainstorming/questions, and more.

Zoom - Zoom is a remote conferencing service that provides video conferencing, online meetings, chat, and mobile collaboration.

Sharing and Receiving Content

Canvas - Use Canvas to deliver content, assign and receive assignments and quizzes, enable discussions and more.

Clever - a personalized portal already used for home access to Dreambox (K-5) and Keyboarding Without Tears (3-5), students will soon be able to scan their Clever badges to access their teacher's Daily Communication Slides, Zoom, Google Meet and Google Classroom.

EdPuzzle - Create interactive video lessons for your students.

FlipGrid - engage and empower every voice in your class by recording and sharing short, awesome videos...together; great for K-2 classrooms and also FLES/Foreign Language

Google Classroom - Tips and videos for educators on how to set up and manage your Google Classroom.

Google Forms

Google Sites - Use Google sites to organize written information, video, and audio for students.

Google Slides - You can now add audio to Google Slides! A great way to share content with students.

Padlet- an application to create an online bulletin board that you can use to display information for any topic.

Seesaw - Create a powerful learning "loop" between teachers, students and families; Great for PreK-2 classrooms!

Screen/Voice Recording

Online Voice Recorder- This Recorder is a convenient and simple online tool that can be used right in your browser. It allows you to record your voice using a microphone and save it as an mp3 file.

Screencastify - An ultra simple screen recorder that will supercharge the way you communicate at work. Record, edit and share HD videos in seconds.

QuickTime- Record the screen on your Mac. You can make a video recording of the entire screen or just a selected portion of it.

Record the Screen of an iPad- Create a screen recording and capture sound on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

Screencast-O-Matic - Capture your screen with instruction to communicate effectively via video screencasting. This app has a 15 minute maximum for the FREE version.
