Since May 2024, the Wellesley College bargaining team has been meeting and negotiating a first contract with WOAW-UAW, the union representing non-tenure track (NTT) faculty.
Since negotiations began, they progressed steadily, and the College offered a strong contract that includes meaningful and competitive salary increases and benefits.
WOAW-UAW initiated a strike on March 27, 2025, that continued until April 24, 2025, with NTT faculty returning to classrooms during the final week of classes. The work of negotiating a final contract with WOAW-UAW continues.
Consistent with our mission of maintaining the highest standards of excellence in liberal arts education, our students remain our top priority, and our bargaining efforts with the WOAW-UAW will seek to support and advance that shared mission.
The College is committed to finalizing a fair and competitive contract that recognizes contributions of NTT faculty as well as the needs of our broader community.
This website is a central resource for accurate and timely information about these negotiations and reflects the many ways the College values our NTT faculty members.
