This homework contains four administrative tasks.
Due: 10:00pm ET on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2026.
You will often work on your own computer for coursework. Follow the instructions on the CS111 Thonny Installation page to install Thonny (a Python coding environment) on your laptop.
Gradescope is where you will get your graded CS111 homeworks, quizzes, and exams. You must enroll as a CS111 student in Gradescope, by following the steps below. Make sure to use your Wellesley email address.
Step 1. Navigate to Gradescope. Sign up for Gradescope as a student, using the following:
your complete name (first and last)
your Wellesley email (eg ks152@wellesley.edu)
your Wellesley ID number (eg C10001234)
Step 2. Enroll in the Fall CS111 2026 course by using the course entry code: ZJV745
This semester there are ~50 students across two lectures.
Step 1. Please fill out this CourseIntros form and follow instructions to send us a 10-second self-introduction video (we really want to learn your names).
Step 2. Please fill out this Get To Know You Form so we can get to know you a little better. Required items are marked with a red *. It'll take between 4-8 minutes. Thanks! You need to be signed into Google with your wellesley.edu email address in order to access the form. For example, open your Wellesley email in browser, and then in another tab of that browser window, open cs111.wellesley.edu and navigate to the form.
Explore the course site, it contains lots of useful information. Below are some particularly useful pages that you should read/familiarize yourself with.
