I work with collaged images and narratives in my paintings to explore the all encompassing presence of unrealized, repressed desires. My paintings wrestle with the tension between the human nature to desire and the obstacles that keep us from embodying that desire. They depict the moments where figures choose to indulge in their latent desires despite complications.

This pair of paintings explore the physical and political constraints of homegoing. I find the idea of requiring permission from governing bodies to return home incomprehensible to the point of comedy. And as such, I offer an equally frivolous resolution.
