Currency Conversion

When teaching low attaining students, it maybe helpful to use manipulatives.

Example:

The exchange rate is £1 = €1.15 it means that every 1 pound is worth 1.15 Euros.

If we wanted to change £10 into Euros, work out how many Euros we would get?

Get some small pieces of papers, write £1 on one side and €1.15

Students will need ten £1 and therefore, it will be 1.15 x 10 for Euros.
