Cartesian Coordinates: can be used to pinpoint where we are on a map or graph.
Horizontal: A line from left to right. Like the horizon.
Vertical: A line goes up and down. Trees grow in a vertical direction.
Origin: (0, 0) on a graph. The point the two axes cross.
Direct proportion: As one amount increases another amount increases at the same rate.
Gradient: How steep a line is.
Linear Sequences: A linear sequence goes from one term to the next by always adding (or subtracting) the same value).
Non-Linear: The difference between terms increases or decreases in different amounts.
Y-intercept: The point where a line or curve crosses the y-axis of a graph.
Midpoint: The middle of a line segment. The point halfway along.
