Approximation: The value that is not exact, but close enough to be used.
Integer: A number with no fractional part (no decimals).
Decimal: A number that uses a decimal point followed by digits that show a value smaller than one.
Interval: what is between two values or points.
Median: The middle piece of data in an ordered set of data.
Range: The difference between the highest and lowest values in a set of data.
Place holder: We use 0 (zero) as a place holder to show that there are none of a particular place in a number.
Place value: The value of a digit depending on its place in a number.
Rounding: means making a number simpler but keeping its value close to what it was.
Significant figure: A digit that gives meaning to a number. The most significant digit is the first non-zero number.
