Equality: two expressions that have the same value
Equation: A Mathematical statement that two things are equal
Equals: represented by = symbol, means the same
Solution: a value, or values, that satisfies the equation
Inverse operation: that undoes what was done by the previous operation (the opposite operation)
Term: In Algebra a term is either a single number or variable, or numbers and variables multiplied together.
Like terms: Terms with the same variable and the same power. (e.g. 3ab, 5ab, 7ba commutative)
Unlike terms: Terms with different variables or different powers. (e.g. −3xy, −3y, 12y2)
Coefficient: A number used to multiply a variable.
Expression: Numbers, symbols and operators (such as + or - grouped together that show the value of something.) (None of these signs: = ≠ < > ≤ )

Solve: to find a value we can put in place of a variable that makes the equation true.
Simplify the expressions: combining like terms by following the operations
