Surd: is a number that can't be simplified to remove a square root.  Surds have a decimal which goes on forever without repeating, and are irrational numbers

Integer: is a number with no fractional part (no decimals).

Rationalise the denominator: is when we move a root from the bottom of a fraction to the top.
