What is ST Math?
How does it benefit my students/classroom?
Engagement: Challenging and fun puzzles that build understanding.
Mastery Building: Scaffolded activities ensure that students understand and retain learning.
Actionable Insights: Reports provide ongoing student data along with alerts when students struggle.

Plan
Spend some exploring STMath. STMath’s puzzles do not come with instructions. Students are expected to figure out how to solve the puzzles on their own. It is beneficial for teachers to preview the puzzles so they can help their students. You can preview the puzzles in the Educator Console. You can also use these previews as a guide during your direct instruction or during small group instruction.
Create
Choose an upcoming Objective in the Educator Console. Develop a small group lesson plan using this template. Have your students track their progress using one of the data tracking logs from slide 15 (STMath Presentation). How did you structure your groups differently based on your data? Complete the STMath Scavenger Hunt.
Teach
Implement your small group lesson plan and collect evidence of student learning, through the use of data tracking logs.
Reflect & Submit Evidence of Mastery
After your lesson, reflect on your instruction using STMath and submit your evidence of mastery on this Reflection Form. Evidence of Mastery can be pictures/pdf of your logs, snippets of your STMath, your small group planning template, AND completion of the STMath Scavenger Hunt.
Math for everyone, no matter the pace.
What is Freckle?
Freckle is a blended learning platform that helps K-12 teachers differentiate instruction and reach every student at their own level in Math.
How does it benefit my students/classroom?
Differentiation: Provides continued practice at both grade level or at a student’s ZPD for individual students at varying levels of complexity.
Student Agency: Students can develop and monitor goals to develop ownership of their learning.
Analytics: Teachers have ongoing access to student data to inform instructional practices for both Core and Guided Math.

PLAN
Using the PD documents above, go through each tab listed below and familiarize yourself with each of the components. Reflect on the guiding questions, these will help when you plan for your small group instruction. As you complete the tasks in each tab, take screenshots of all tasks and include them in your reflection folder.
ROSTER TAB:
Editing student dashboards
Try to change the language for Newcomers that would benefit from seeing the problems in both English and Spanish.
Try to change the available Domains for the student dashboard. Limit which Domains you want them to choose from for both Adaptive Practice and Fact Practice.
REPORTS TAB:
Class grouping: Choose the Domain you are currently teaching or are about to teach. How many groups are made for your class? What is the range of student understanding in your classroom? (Range of grade level standards)
Fact practice: Click on the Basic Operations Tab. Choose a student and click on the report arrow on the right. Choose a skill to review. What facts do they still need to master? How can that be practiced during Guided Math?
MATH TAB:
Standards: Choose the standard you are currently teaching. How many students are currently struggling with this standard? How many are ready for a challenge? How could the sample questions be used during a small group? Do you need to use the Skills & Prerequisites?
Inquiry based lesson: Review the Inquiry Based Lesson for the standard you are currently teaching. Is this an activity your class would enjoy doing? What is different about this lesson than your current Eureka lessons?
CREATE
After you have gone through all tasks and reflection questions, develop a small group lesson plan using this template. Create a space for student goal setting in regards to Freckle in your classroom (it could be a poster or a space in your student binder).
TEACH
Implement your small group lesson plan and collect evidence of student learning.
REFLECT & SUBMIT EVIDENCE of MASTERY
After your lesson, reflect on your instruction using and submit your evidence of mastery on this Reflection Form. Evidence of Mastery will be a folder that includes the following components:
Snapshots of completed tasks
Pictures of Student Goal Setting posted in classroom or in binder
Small Group Planning Document
Practice that feels like play.
