What is Book Creator?

Book Creator is an app for Google Chrome & the iPad that enables students to create and read multimodal digital books. Combine text, images, audio, and video to create digital books that teachers and students will be proud of. Book Creator’s multimodal tools and supports make lessons accessible while building in student voice and choice.  

How does this benefit my students?

Creativity: Students create a media-rich eBook. 

Feedback: Opportunity for audio or written feedback from peers and/or teachers during the writing process.

Collaboration: Students can collaborate on the same book and the teacher can create a whole class library. 

Interdisciplinary: All students and teachers have access and can be used for a variety of subjects.

Identify a place where you could utilize “Book Creator.”  

You will need to create a book to use with your students, and then have students create their own books.

Create a library for your class in Book Creator, and add students to your library. 

Have students create a book that demonstrates an understanding of a current unit. 

Please make tool/feature requirements based on the level of your students.

After your lesson, reflect on your instruction using Book Creator and submit your evidence of mastery on this Reflection Form. 

Please include your sample book for students, student lesson presentation (if applicable), classroom library link, and/or student work example.
