Deadwake is a structured, high-stakes arc built in three evolving acts.
ACT 1: The Launch + Journey Begin (Sessions 1–3)
Players receive the initial riddle or location fragment
They travel across seas and continents solving puzzle-based challenges, engaging in combat trials, and earning magical coordinates
In between stops, the Watcher draws Hurricane Cards, introducing chaos mid-voyage
These cards are active magical events—never abstract flavor
ACT 2: Escalation (Sessions 4–6)
The Watcher draws more frequently
Rival crews may be encountered, and PvP sabotage is possible
Clues become riddles inside riddles; divine or cursed interference increases
World-affecting choices may ripple across later dungeons
ACT 3: The Vault (Sessions 7–9)
A full dungeon crawl or encounter gauntlet
The first crew there gains a head start
The rest arrive staggered behind (or parallel)
Dungeon includes:
Dead ends
Enemy illusions
Crew-swapping magical traps
A vault that can only be opened through collaboration or betrayal
Winner:
The crew who finishes the vault and escapes alive with the treasure.
Other crews can attempt to steal it before or after the escape.
If no one escapes with it… Deadwake claims its prize.
