Grades 3 to 6
Hello and welcome to the 2018-2019 school year. My name is Ms. Luna and I am the Spanish teacher here at TRS. I am very excited to be able to teach students new and exciting ways to use simple communication in a foreign language. My goal is to prepare students to begin developing functional skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in Spanish. To provide a nurturing environment where students feel comfortable learning a second language. To encourage all students to develop an openness, understanding and appreciation for other cultures.
*All assignments, announcements and resources will be posted on Google Classroom. Students are responsible to check it daily. Students will need to access it often. Their Google Classroom is designed to help students review the material learned in class, give them resources, as well as provide information to those who are absent from class. The website contains the lessons and activities discussed and completed daily.
Students will be using the online Language Program, Middlebury. It can be accessed by login in to:

- Be polite and respectful at all times. Anything you do that interferes with your ability to learn, with a classmate's ability to learn, or with my ability to teach is inappropriate and will not be tolerated.
- Be in your assigned seat and prepared to begin work when class begins.
- Have the required materials for every class.
Grades will be weighted as follows:
Tests, Projects 45% -Tests and projects are major assessments and assess student knowledge and skills at the end of a unit. Assessment types include written exams, speaking exams, projects and writing journal entries.
Quizzes 30% -Quizzes assess student knowledge of the vocabulary, grammar, and cultural information covered in class. Assessment types include writing, reading, listening and speaking.
Classwork 15% -Classwork grade includes completion of in-class assignments and participation in classroom activities.
Homework 10% -Homework assignments are due at the beginning of the class period and are graded as complete or incomplete.
