About Ms. Denfeld

Welcome to Room 205 :)😀. My name is Alyssa Denfeld. This is my 5th year teaching and I am thrilled to be one of your child's teachers. I was born and raised in Weehawken and I am very excited to become a teacher for this fantastic district. I am a graduate of New Jersey City University where I majored in Early Childhood Education and Women and Gender's Studies. I also received my dual certification in Teacher of Students with Disabilities and Preschool through 3rd Grade. I received my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix. 

During the 2016-2017 school year I worked as a volunteer teacher in a Pre-K class in Weehawken. I then completed an internship in the Secaucus School District in a Kindergarten Inclusion Classroom and my student teaching as a 2nd-grade inclusion teacher in the West New York School District. After graduating I returned to Webster School and took over as a 2nd grade special education teacher in an inclusion classroom for part of the 2019-2020 school year. In 2020-2021 school year I worked in both the Pre-K 3-4 Self-Contained classroom and in the Pre-K Inclusion Classroom. In 2021-2022 I worked as a special education teacher where I worked with students in both inclusion and self-contained settings. In 2022-2023 I then returned to Pre-K Inclusion. 

I am also Orton Gillingham Certified in both Comprehensive and Phonological Awareness as well as Level 1 Sign Language. I am also certified in CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) and CPR certified through the school. 

My Goal for this school year is to create an environment where all students feel welcome, safe, and are excited to learn.
