Hello! My name is Justin Davisson, and I am one of the 6th Grade math teachers! I am honored to have the opportunity to teach your kids the importance and fun of mathematics.

I grew up in Annapolis, MD, and have lived in Hoboken for the past three years. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics with a concentration in Social Sciences and minors in Economics and English Literature from Elon University. I spent the majority of my career working within the education nonprofit space. My work consisted of creating, conducting, and analyzing survey data through statistical programs focused on a myriad of topics, including social and emotional learning, substance abuse, and public health.

After working with teachers and students with my surveys, I felt a call to get more hands on with learning, and decided to transition to a career in teaching. Last year, I worked as a substitute teacher at Roosevelt, and I was offered a full time teaching position for 2026-2027. I am thrilled to have your child as part of my first class!

Education has always been a passion of mine. I plan to create a warm and welcoming environment for your child. I aim to help them understand the importance and joy of mathematics, as well as how it helps us understand the world we live in. My wish for them is to feel like they are truly a part of the learning process, and feel comfortable challenging themselves in a safe environment. Math can be a difficult subject for many students, and I hope to make it feel less daunting and a challenge they are confident they can tackle. 

When I’m not teaching, you can find me reading fantasy and science fiction, camping somewhere out in the woods, cruising down ski slopes, or cooking a new recipe at home!
