Your pitch deck is so important, and that’s why it’s mandatory for your profile. It shows attendees how serious you are about your business, and is a space where people can quickly get a feel for your company.
Please note: your pitch deck will be visible to all Web Summit attendees
You can find a link to your startup profile in your welcome email from your startup success manager, find out more here.
What is a pitch deck?
A pitch deck is a brief presentation, often created using PowerPoint or similar. It is used to provide your audience with a quick overview of your business plan. A pitch deck would usually be used to pitch your startup during face-to-face or online meetings with potential investors, customers, partners, etc.
We strongly recommend that everyone upload a pitch deck, as it is the first thing that many of our investor, partner and media attendees look for when deciding whether they would like to meet with a startup.
Who will see my pitch deck?
Your pitch deck will be visible to all Web Summit attendees. With that in mind, we recommend you create two versions:
The first version is one that you would be happy to share on your website. It could contain your product overview; the problem(s) you’re solving and how; what makes you stand out in the crowd; your team; and a brief summary. This version should be short and catch the attention of the viewer, making them want to learn more about your company.
The second version is intended to be shared exclusively with individuals who directly contact you and whom you wish to provide it to, such as potential investors. This version should contain the above information and also include more delicate details, like your business model and financial information.
We highly recommend that all individuals upload a pitch deck, as it is the first thing that many of our investor, partner and media attendees seek when determining their interest in scheduling a meeting with a startup.
