NHS members carry out a number of service projects throughout the year that support academics, connections to the community, and improve the school's environment overall. NHS members also work to support the service opportunities of other clubs and organizations.
Junior or Senior students who have a GPA of 90 or higher receive an email invitation to apply in the fall. Students who can prove that they actively embody all of the pillars of NHS then can pick up an application to complete. The application uses a point system for students to prove that they are well-rounded and can demonstrate all the pillars of NHS. Candidates must also get an adult recommendation (from a coach, boss, teacher, etc) that speaks to their character and they must complete an essay about how they embody the pillars.
