I've been lucky enough to call Guernsey home for over 7 years. By day, I keep busy teaching science, but when I'm not in the classroom, I love to explore the island's stunning coastline with a sea swim or horseback ride. I'm also a bit of a bookworm, with a soft spot for folklore and mythology. And if I'm not lost in a book, I'm probably spending quality time with my family or playing board games!
In school, you will normally find me either in the science department or in the Head of Year office at the front of school.
I am the head of PE here at Les Varendes. I currently teach PE but have had experience in teaching other subjects such as Maths, Geography as well as PSHE. I am passionate about every student having the opportunity to take part enrichment outside of their lessons whether that’s in PE or perhaps in other subjects such as Science, Art , Music, Drama to name just a few! You will have so many fantastic opportunities here at LVH and we can’t wait to see you thrive here!
I’ve lived in Guernsey for 24 years, I’m originally from Belfast in Ireland which will explain why I sound funny when I say certain words. In my spare time I enjoy sea swimming which I do all year round. I am and always have been active. I’ve taken part in 2 London Marathons, 6 half marathons and lots of quarter marathons. I love cycling, both road and mountain bikes. I especially love taking part in the ‘Tour of Guernsey’ sportif every year, as well as the ‘Ronez Mayhem’. I have also completed triathlons in Guernsey and Jersey. I would describe myself as kind, caring, driven, and most importantly of all happy. I’m always seeking new challenges, and opportunities to try something new. My view on life is – give it a go and do your best, you’ll always be surprised what you’re capable of.
I am a music and drama teacher, born and raised in Guernsey. I returned home last year after living in Manchester where I studied Music and started my teaching career. I am new to Les Varendes this year, but I went to the Grammar School as a student so I know my way around the building very well! I love performing and listening to music, and exploring new places on holiday. I'm excited to be a Year 7 tutor and to help my tutor group have the best start to their secondary school experience!
I teach computing subjects up to A level. I enjoy researching about the latest computing technological trends including Artificial Intelligence and how technology is impacting our daily lives.
