Washington, D.C. Trip
School-sponsored trip to Washington, D.C.
- Available to all 8th grade students (this is an optional trip)
- Meant to be education in nature and an extension of our curriculum
- Extension of civics, American history, and American geography
- 4-day, 4-night trip after the last day of school
- Mode of transportation would be airplane with group travel to airport (Milwaukee/Chicago) by bus
- Goal to have a student to adult ratio no greater than 4:1
- At least 1 adult would stay in each hotel room
- Parents are viewed as vital partners in this trip and are welcomed as additional chaperones
- Trip is designed to have small group (with an adult) as well as large group activities
- Approximate cost for the trip would be $900 - $1,400 which includes six meals (3 breakfasts, 2 lunches and a dinner)
- Students are responsible for additional food and metro rail travel
- Fundraising is available to help off-set the cost of the trip
- Students in 6th or 7th grade may start working towards fundraising for this trip as well
- Trip will occur after school lets out
