West De Pere Staff

Meet Mrs. Dressel

Hello and welcome to 5th Grade!

Hello and welcome to our class website!  I am looking forward to all of the exciting adventures this year will bring us. I believe that learning is a  lifelong adventure and does not end when the bell rings. That means that I know families are important to our class too! Since you don't all get to spend the day with us, I will do my best to keep you all informed. I will keep this website as updated as I can, but please feel free to reach out to me any time. E-mail is the best way to share information since we are busy learning during the day.

Our Classroom...

If you peeked into our classroom every day it would be a little different each day. The seats may be in the same spot, but I hope the way we are learning and what we are doing looks a little different. Variety keeps things interesting.

We spend quite a bit of time together during the school year and I think the key to success is creating a strong classroom community. I encourage students to be respectful, be responsible and don't be afraid to take a risk (try new things).

About Me...

I'm a wife, a mom, a daughter, a sister, and a teacher.

My family is important to me! My husband and I have three kids in the West De Pere School District and an energetic dog (black lab/hound mix). The kids keep us very busy and the dog alerts us to any squirrel that trespasses in his yard.

I wasn't always a 5th grade teacher. Prior to teaching 5th grade, I worked in corporate training and development. I always explained it to my kids by telling them that I "teach grown ups." After taking some time off to be home with my children, I learned something about myself: I love working with children and I missed teaching and sharing knowledge. That's how my adventure started and my life took a new path. I started substitute teaching and obtained my teaching license.

My family enjoys camping and swimming in the summer. We like to take adventures looking for waterfalls. We continue looking for adventures in the winter but make sure to warm up with a cup of hot cocoa after!

My goal is to never stop learning, share my love of learning, and have fun every day!
