This year, the Renaissance Club has a new crew along with a new head coordinator, Mrs. Amber Cruser! Mrs. Cruser fell perfectly into this position. The whole Renaissance Committee understood that it was just too much for one person or even just two people to handle. It needed to change. A group of teachers and faculty came up with the idea of a renaissance committee. Mrs. Cruser is the main lead, and even though she had wanted to be involved, she wasn't quite sure about the commitment. Everything fell into place, and people are ready to take their roles.
Moving into this year, a lot of changes are being made, and Waterloo High School have already started seeing the impact of those changes. Renaissance hopes that this year WHS will have more activities throughout the year. Some of those activities will include more assemblies to recognize more students and let the kids be more involved and inclusive. Along with more assemblies, WHS will have high five Fridays. This is where students from all schools come together to give each other high fives at the beginning of the day on Fridays to try to raise school spirit and positivity.
Mrs. Cruser and the whole Renaissance board are excited to work more with the students and get everyone involved. This year, they are going to recognize more students, clubs, and sports. They really wanted to branch out and make everyone feel included, no matter what they are involved in.
Students should get more involved not just with Renaissance but with the school as a whole. It will raise the energy and school spirit. The goal is to make sure each kid feels welcome and wants to show up to school. It needs to be a positive experience for everyone, no matter what they are going through or passionate about.
