About Your Teacher

You will quickly realize from my accent that I am not a native New Yorker. I am originally from Hampton, Virginia, and I moved to New York in 1997. After spending nearly 15 years in the corporate world, I changed careers and began teaching in 2003. This is my 18th year in the Wappingers Central School District. I have taught 8th grade at Wappingers Junior High and 9th grade at RCK. I am a National Board Certified teacher, and a past president of the New York State English Council.

I have a 13-year old son, who is in eighth grade at Wappingers JHS this year. I enjoy reading, skiing, relaxing on the beach and watching football and tennis.
