Vassar Cares
Vassar Cares is our adapted service-learning program that helps our children make direct and personal connections to our community through community service activities. Our goal is to foster empathy, tolerance, and caring in our kids which leads to a positive change in how they treat each other. A school with increased respect and less bullying behaviors is a school environment that is nurturing, positive, and educationally productive.
Throughout the year, we will be supporting a variety of charities and causes. We know that the families of our school community are very active and generous in many fundraising events. We do not want to add another constant fundraising request to that. Although some projects do include fundraising, we are planning activities that are meant to raise awareness or make a connection.
This year, Vassar Road has adopted the Ronald McDonald House Charities as our charity of the year! RMHC supports families of sick children throughout their recovery by giving them a comfortable place to stay near treatment and offering medical services to children who are sick.
