    This page contains answers to the common questions of students and parents in our classroom.

 

             At what times does the school day begin and end?

The school day begins at 8:25 a.m. and ends at 3:25 p.m..


When does your class have specials?

Our class has Music on Days 1 and 4, Art on Days 2 and 5 and Physical Education on Days 3 and 6.  We have Library on Day 4.

 

What type of foods are appropriate for snack time?

A healthy snack is a good one! Any fruits, such as apples, oranges, or grapes, or even half of a sandwich are all considered healthy snacks.


       When is lunch?

Our Lunch time is 11:20 a.m. - 12:05 p.m..


Can a student bring in treats to celebrate 

his or her birthday in class?


Yes, a child can bring a snack for his or her birthday.  However, I do need a note stating when you will bring this treat in and what your child will be bringing in at least two days ahead of time.

 

How can I invite other students to birthday parties?

 Please send birthday invitations in the mail using the class directory that is sent home in September. 

 

Will some school supplies need to be replenished 

throughout the year?

Yes, because supplies, such as pencils, crayons, or erasers, are are used often and become unusable over time.


If I finish reading my independent reading book, 

do I need to bring in another one?

 Yes, you do need to bring in a new book as independent reading is daily.  In addition to your own book, you can get a new book from our classroom library or our school library.


                     Is homework given every night? 

 Homework is seen as a reinforcement of concepts learned in class.   This year, homework will be in the form of a homework choice board.   In addition, sometimes there are occasional projects assigned as  well as studying for cumulative unit tests in our subject areas.
