Join Zoo Scout Parker on a bioblitz in Manhattan!

Partner up with Parker on their commute to Central Park and get ready to spot all of the different urban legends that thrive along the streets of the city!

On the way to Central Park, Parker notices some creatures hanging around the city. While they’re walking to the subway, Parker takes note of the animals they saw.

First, Parker sees a raccoon rummaging through the trash right outside their apartment building,

After leaving their apartment, Parker cuts through a park. They stop when they hear a sound; it turns out to be a skunk rustling through a bush.

Right before heading down the stairs into the subway, Parker peeks down an alleyway. They are surprised to see 2 opossums looking for their next meal.

Finally, once down in the subway, Parker sees a black and a brown rat standing on the platform. How interesting that they are two colors!

Parker starts to wonder about these animals and how long they’ve been living in the city. They know very little about these creatures because they always thought animals like these belong to the outskirts of New York City! Has anyone else really taken the time to observe them? How have these animals adapted to live alongside humans?

Learn more about what makes these four under appreciated animals special and advocate for them!
