1.Click the Nearpod Library tab on the left side of the screen.
2. You can search for lessons by category: A) Featured, B) Grades, C) Subjects, D) Content Types, E) Publishers, and F) Premium Content. We will show you some examples of each category below.
A) Featured: These are lessons pertaining to upcoming events and holidays. These lessons will change depending on the time of the year.
B) Grades: Search for lessons by grade level.
C) Subjects: Search for lessons by subject area.
D) Content Types: Search for activities based on Videos, Activities (Quizzes and Interactive activities), and Lessons (teacher-led activities).
E) Publishers: Find lessons produced by publishers such as Amplify, BBC Worldwide, and Biography.
F) Premium Content: Access to these lessons requires a paid subscription to Nearpod. Click Here to learn more about Nearpod's pricing plans.
3. Select a lesson by hovering your mouse over the lesson. Click Preview to see a quick overview of the lesson. If you want to use this lesson, click Add to My Lessons and add this lesson to your list for quick access. After you build a repertoire of lessons in your My Lessons tab, you can quickly find lessons that you use on a regular basis in this tab instead of searching for them.
4. If you are teaching a lesson, click the Teach tab.
5. Select either Live Participation where the teacher leads the activity with the class or Student-Paced where the students work at their own pace without the teacher having to lead the lesson.
6. If you choose the Live Participation option, Nearpod generates a class code for this particular lesson. The students can access the lesson by entering the code in Nearpod on their devices.
7. For the Student-Paced option, be sure to click the Open Settings button to activate the Collaborate Boards so that students can participate in the activity.
8. Scroll down to view all settings in this menu. Adjust the settings according to your wishes.
Now you are ready to use Nearpod's lessons and activities!
