Click on the Google Apps Store icon in the top left corner of the screen.
3. In the search bar, type Screencast-o-Matic.
4. Beside the extension called Screencast-o-Matic, click the blue Add to Chrome button.
5. Once the extension is added, it will appear in your extensions bar across the top of the page. The icon is a blue circle with a blue dot in the middle.
6. To record your computer screen, click the Screencast-o-Matic icon.
7. Click Launch Recorder.
8. You may have to sign in to use the recorder the first time you use it. If you see a screen that says Sign In With Google, click that option and it will automatically sign you in if you are already signed into your computer. If not, it will direct you to the SSO Portal and prompt you to sign in with your credentials.
9. Click Open Screen Recorder Launcher v 2.0.
10. The recorder will appear on the screen. The black and white lined box shows the part of the screen that will be recorded. If you want to record the entire screen or a larger portion, simply grab the corner and drag the box to fit how much of the screen you want to record.
11. When you are ready to record, click the red REC button. You can record up to 15 minutes with the free version. Your microphone will be automatically enabled if you need to add narration. If you do not want to add narration, simply turn off the computer's microphone.
12. You will see a 3 second countdown. The word GO appears when the recording begins.
13. When you are done recording, press the blue PAUSE button.
15. You can save the video to your computer by clicking Save/Upload.
16. To save the file to your computer, click Save As Video File. Click Upload to YouTube if you want to put the video on YouTube.
17. Click Folder to decide where you want to save the file.
18. Select the folder on your computer where you want to save the video. You can save it under Documents, Videos, Downloads, etc. Click OK once you have decided where to save teh video.
