If your Chromebook freezes and you are not able to get it to do anything, you can do a hard reset as a way of refreshing the device. Doing a hard reset is much different than simply turning the Chromebook off and back on. A hard reset will reset the device's brain and force it to work in a normal fashion. To do a hard reset of your Chromebook:
1.Power off the Chromebook by pressing and holding the power button until the screen goes dark. The power button's location will vary depending on your Chromebook model.
2. Hold down the (1) ESC and (2) Refresh keys simultaneously and then hit the (3) Power button while continuing to hold down ESC and Refresh buttons.
3. Wait about 10 seconds, then release the keys. Try using the Chromebook and see if it resumes normal activity. If not, check with your ITRT.
