Money Trap is a money counting game where students will count coins to figure out how much money they have.  The catch is they have to avoid hitting the Money Trap.   

Game Setup:  Divide the class into two or three teams.  Start the game by clicking on Slide 2.  Then put the slide in Full Presentation mode.

How to Play:    Click to select one of the ten games.  Students will be asked to figure out which answers from four possible choices contain the correct coin combination of pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters that total a money amount.  For example, students may be asked to pick the answer choices containing the correct coin combinations that total 65 cents.  Each of the four possible answers contain a mixture of pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters.  Three of the boxes contain the correct answers, which are the correct coin combinations that total 65 cents.  One of the answers is incorrect and is called the Money Trap.   This is the box to avoid.

     To start the game, the teacher reads the question at the top of the screen.  The four possible answers are displayed for the students to see.  One team plays first.  The students may collaborate and figure out one of the correct answers to the question by calling out a box number (1-4).  The teacher clicks the box.  If the answer is correct, a blue bullseye logo appears.  However, if a team picks the Money Trap, a red trap logo appears.  If a team can pick the three correct answers without hitting the Money Trap, they score one point.

     The second team gets their turn at the game.  The teacher selects another game from the list.  Gameplay is the same for team number two.  The winner of the second game scores one point.  The first team to win two games wins Money Trap.
