During the 2020-2021 school year, NewsFlash! is the only active club at WMS. If you are interested in getting a group to participate in Dungeons and Dragons virtually, please email Ms. Dextre at ldextre@wcpss.net

Mt. Vernon Middle Anime Club is also active for participants who can attend on
Wednesdays at 3:00PM. The Meets are through a Google Classroom group. See below for more information.

Meets at least once weekly after school hours. Participating students will be writing, editing, producing, and creating content for a monthly news show and fun feature productions. Must have photo permission to participate.

Interested students will work on selected days during homeroom. Some of the activities include shelving, reading promotions, organizing the library spaces for our patrons, suggesting activities, and creating themed book displays.

Students work in collaboration with our Performing Arts groups to learn how to set up the auditorium sound and lights, run the light and sound boards during performances, and keep the equipment organized.

Students interested MUST be able to attend after-school meetings and evening performances.

This club meets after school for this narrative and fun fantasy role-playing game. Students hone their intellectual abilities through math applications, science concepts, history connections, cultural understanding, ethical decisions, reading skills, and social collaboration.

Interested parents with volunteer status are welcomed to join in the fun!
