Meet Your Teachers

Hi! My name is Christy Trybus and I am so excited for the upcoming school year! I have been teaching since 1998 and teaching Kindergarten at Olive Chapel since 2016. I know this year will be fantastic! I love teaching kindergarten and building relationships with my students and their families. 

My husband and I have 2 daughters that were once students at OCE. Julia is now at Apex Friendship High School and Clair is now at App State. Go Mountaineers! Outside of school, I love to travel, hike, go shopping and hang out with family/friends. My family loves to watch sports. We cheer on the AFHS Patriots, App State Mountaineers and the Pittsburgh Steelers. I can't wait to meet your sweet kinders! It is going to be a wonderful year!

Hello! My name is Leslie Armbruster. I am SO excited for another year as an IA at Olive Chapel Elementary! I am originally from upstate NY but have worked as a preschool teacher in Apex for the past 13 years. I have an undergraduate degree in Child Development from Cornell and a master’s in Sociology from NC State. 

My husband, Mitch, and I have three boys, Sam, Noah, and Jason. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with family, taking trips to the beach and traveling abroad, and reading. I look forward to a fantastic year and plan to make school a fun place to learn!
