About Me:

Hi! I’m Rachel Sine and I started teaching at Olive Chapel in 2020 after having taught Kindergarten at A.B. Combs Leadership Magnet Elementary for 9 years. I graduated from Appalachian State University with a degree in Elementary Education and a concentration in science. I am a Nationally Board Certified teacher and love watching students get that “twinkle” in their eye when they learn a new skill. I grew up in Chapel Hill, NC and love traveling to LPA conventions, going to sporting events, and going camping with my husband, son, and our two dogs! I also love scrapbooking, biking, going to the movies and spending time with my friends/family.

Meet Mrs. Hornbeck

About Me:

Hi! I'm Erika Hornbeck and I grew up in Sparta, NJ and went to school in Scranton, PA (shout out to The Office fans 🙂) Early in our relationship, I followed my now husband to Scottsdale, AZ and we loved it out there but our goal was to come back East. We settled on NC in 2011 just before we got married! We had 4 dogs at one point, but we are just blessed with our puppy Max currently. We have 2 adorable children, Emmet just turned 6 and loves first grade , and Emmerson is 4 & 1/2 and loves being the mayor of Grow Preschool! I was with Grow Preschool from 2014 through December 2022 (with a small break to be a dog walker in between) and adore children blossom each year. I love to play, craft with friends, watch movies, sudoku, and being the comic relief in serious situations!
