About Me:

I am thrilled to be a social studies teacher at Apex Friendship Middle School. I have taught for over twenty years. Previously, I taught at Centennial Campus Magnet Middle School on NC State's Centennial Campus, where I was honored to be selected as teacher of the year. I also taught elementary school at  Jeffreys Grove in North Raleigh.

I became a teacher because I was fortunate enough to have passionate, caring teachers that fostered a love for learning. I believe every student has the potential to be successful and the learning environment I create in our classroom is key. I hope to inspire the next anthropologist, archeologist, cartographer, economist, geographer, historian, political scientist, or other exciting social studies career in my students. 

As a child, I lived in Texas, Florida, Virginia, and New York. As a young adult, I continued my travels while serving in the United States Marine Corps, finally settling in North Carolina. In my free time, I enjoy traveling the world with my family, playing with my corgi, and kayaking.
