What it was like to see the SpaceX rocket launch, from a 5th grader's perspective.

A Brief History of Launches
On October 11th, 1958, Nasa’s first Launch ever happened. There first mission was project Mercury. One year later, Sputnik 1 was launched by the Soviets. Sputnik 1 was the first artificial satellite in the world.
Space X Mission
I actually did not know what the launch was for. I asked my sister, turns out, she did not know either. We looked it up together and we found out that the Astronauts were going to the International Space Station that orbits the earth. Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley were sent into orbit by the rocket. They circled for a day before connecting and going inside the International Space Station.

Visiting Florida
On May 27, me, my sister, and the rest of my family were super excited to see the SpaceX Rocket Launch. Since we were staying in Florida with family, we would be able to see the lift-off. We were going to my Great Grandma’s fishing spot, it would be just us so we can social distance. We were sitting and waiting excitedly until we got the bad news: it was moving to Saturday because there was bad weather somewhere.
The Launch would be May 30th, 2020. We couldn’t see it from our spot so we comfortably watched it at home. It was cool seeing it at home. It would have been better if we saw it in person. That was my first ever time seeing a rocket getting launched in the air. The rocket stayed up in the air for a long time!

Thanks so much to D. Dixon and her brother for writing. We love to see live reporting and look forward to more from him!
My nephew, Jack, went to see the launch. He was where the green J is on the map, and the Yellow circle is launch pad 39A at Kennedy Space Center. This was actually 11.64 miles away, but as you can see in the video below, it was still a thrilling sight for him and everyone around him!
Disclaimer, he was with his "bubble" friends, but they don't look like they were socially distanced from others.
