Author Visits

Alan Gratz Virtual Visit!

Wednesday, February 3rd at 12 Noon. (This is an Asynchronous Day so you should have time to come if you're interested!)

Join us with other students nationwide as Mr. Gratz shares about his latest book, Ground Zero, about two lives that intersect on 9/11/2001.

Open Google Meet through WakeID and enter Meeting Code "RCLibraryTech" to join! The meet will open around 11:50 so we can make sure we are ready!

We have all of his books! Login to Wake ID and click to check out the links here.

Choose "HOLD" to reserve the book to be added to our Books2Go cart! so you can read them ASAP.

We will even be getting 2 copies of Ground Zero; it releases on February 2nd. Search for it in the library catalog by that evening.

Here is a video with the details and a tutorial on how to reserve books.

Scott Reintgen

The favorite book of our Battle of the Books team is Nyxia by local author, Scott Reintgen. On Tuesday, February 2, 2021, BOB teams from all over North Carolina had an afternoon visit with him. There were almost 200 students and their Librarians to discuss all of Mr. Reintgen's books, especially Nyxia. The best part was because everyone had read the book, we could throughly discuss it, with spoilers!

We also learned that he went to Cary High School, taught at Jordan High School, and now lives in Cary!

Dylan Thuras

6th Graders enjoyed our trip around the world with the co-author of Atlas Obscura. Thanks to Quail Ridge Books for Sponsoring this terrific visit!
