I am a North Carolina native and have lived here for my entire life! After high school, I attended East Carolina University where I earned a BA in History and a BS in History Education!

This is my fourth year at Wakefield High School and I am very happy to be a part of the Wakefield family!

I chose to become a Social Studies teacher because of my love of History. Growing up, I was always interested in learning about influential people and events that have shaped the world we live in today. "The past causes the present, and so the future." We must understand the past so we do not recreate the mistakes of the past and instead create a better and brighter future for everyone!  I've always believed in the importance of education and became a teacher so that I could share those values with my students to help them become active learners who will soon become active citizens in this world!

This year I will be teaching Civic Literacy and Law & Justice!
