Compacted 6 Plus / 7 Plus provides students a more accelerated version of the content in 6 Plus and 7 Plus. Overall, this course will include all content objectives for grade 6, grade 7 and half of the course content for grade 8. Due to the quick pace of this course, it is designed for the highly proficient and highly gifted learner.
Compacted 6 Plus / 7 Plus builds a foundation that is essential for success in High School Math I . Students who successfully completed this course will take High School Math I in 7th grade. Students will engage in problem solving situations that require application of skills connecting real-life to concepts learned in class. Students often work in a small group settings, with modified pacing and instruction, in order to ensure mastery of the topics covered.
Math 6+7+ students also participate AMC 8 Math Competition in November . The AMC 8 is a 25-question, 40-minute, multiple choice examination in middle school mathematics designed to promote the development of problem-solving skills.
