I went to the University of North Carolina at Charlotte as a NC Teaching Fellow. I graduated in 2013 with a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Children's Literacy and Childhood Studies. I began my teaching career in Charlotte, teaching 4th grade at Kensington Elementary. After teaching at that school for 3 years, I moved to Raleigh and am currently a kindergarten teacher at Lake Myra Elementary. This is my 6th year of teaching, with experience in grades K, 1, 4, and 5. I love teaching and am excited for this school year!
I love to spend time with my family and friends. My husband, Nathan, and I have two dogs, Wesley and Darby. We enjoy taking them for walks, going to the dog park, and relaxing at home. This Fall, our family is growing! We are expecting our first child in December.
Mission Statement: We will seek first to understand, be kind, and work together to learn.
