There are many students here at Lufkin and they all have very different lives. Whether it is a difference in sports, academics, or clubs everyone has a different interest out or in school. Here we are interviewing 6th,7th, and 8th grade students on their experiences here at Lufkin.
7th Grader: Zane.D
For Zane, his favorite experience at Lufkin has been the bus rides, while the Fall Festival topped his list of events, thanks to activities like 9 Square and football. Zane is currently taking Math 7 Plus and is in the band, but he finds the material challenging. He’s also hoping to join the soccer team.
8th Grader: James.K
James has enjoyed his 8th-grade year the most so far because he made the football team after a previous attempt at soccer in 7th grade. James liked the Fall Festival in 7th grade as an event, enjoying activities like rolling down the hill and playing tag. His favorite elective? Gym, because of his love for physical activity.
6th Grader: Grayson.K
Grayson appreciates the freedom and variety of teachers in 6th grade. His favorite subject is social studies because he enjoys the teacher and finds the class easy. PE is his favorite elective, thanks to Coach Brown and he likes to stay active. Like others, Grayson said the Fall Festival was fun since he got to spend time with friends. He says transitioning to middle school hasn’t been easy, because navigating between classes has been a challenge.
At Lufkin, the experiences and likes can vary depending on their personal interests and possibly grade level.
