AP Studio Art 3D Design

ADVANCED PLACEMENT STUDIO ART – 3D DESIGN 5A037X0 1 CREDIT (AP)

Recommended prerequisite(s): At least Sculpture/Ceramics Level 3 Proficient. Reccomended Sculpture/Ceramics Level 4 Advanced. This is a year long course with part 1 (Sculpture/Ceramics 3 or Sculpture/Ceramics 4) in the fall and part 2 (AP Studio Art 3D Design) in the spring.

Emphasis is placed on studio art. It is expected that students enrolled in these courses will take the College Board Advanced Placement Test. The student must prepare and submit a portfolio to the Adv anced Placement Visual Arts Committee of The College Board for college credit approval. Success at the AP level requires rigorous study, excellence in design and production, and extensive knowledge of a variety of art forms. Students initiate, define, and solve challenging visual arts problems independently using intellectual skills such as analysis, synthesis, and evaluation. Students have in-depth experiences in reflecting upon and assessing the characteristics and merits of their work and the work of others.
