Concept of Government
Objective of this project:
You will learn about and then research the following:
- Absolutism and Enlightenment
- Enlightenment thinkers (specifically: John Locke, Baron de Montesquieu, Jean Jacques Rousseau, Voltaire)
- Absolutists (specifically: King Louis XIV, James I, Charles V, Phillip II, Thomas Hobbes)
- Modern Day absolute monarchies and enlightenment thinkers
After researching, teams of students will then create a debate on one of the following:
Debate 1: No Government vs. Absolute Government
OR
Debate 2: Man is naturally/basically good vs. Man is naturally/basically bad

Students will spend time in media center crafting their arguments ) using research from materials to provide facts/sources/evidence.
