The house system is an idea adopted from Ron Clark Academy to give students the opportunity to connect with students across classes that they may not normally have a chance to interact with. This helps students gain more friendships and create a family-like culture in second grade.
The house system creates:
Unity
A change of culture
Provides opportunities for students to connect across classes
Promotes core character traits
A sense of pride
Leadership opportunities
What is a House Family?
A house family is a small group of students assigned within Houses. Students are assigned to a house where the certain teachers are assigned as their"house parents". House families generally consist of 15-25 students which meet monthly.
