WELCOME! I am so excited to have you become part of our fourth grade class for the 25-26 school year! We have many things to learn and even more things to teach each other! This letter is the first of many times we will share personal experiences with each other to help us grow and learn! I wanted to kick off this year by telling you a little about myself!
I am originally from New Jersey, my family relocated to North Carolina in 2012! I attended Centenary University where I earned my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education to become a teacher. Shortly after moving to North Carolina I began teaching in the Wake County Public School System. My husband, Josh, and I have agreed many times that moving to North Carolina is the best decision we have ever made! We live in Fuquay with our children, Delaney (8) and Peter (6). As a family we love to go swimming and explore new places. My favorite hobby is to declutter and organize any space! My family will surely agree that I have a strong love for organization!
In our classroom we are a community and work hard to accomplish our goals. Fourth grade is such a transitional age both academically and developmentally. We will be working on becoming independent and making choices that are beneficial to ourselves as learners. This falls in line with our school beliefs of, “owning our actions and working hard everyday.” As a class community we will build a safe and accepting space to allow students to openly ask for help, try new ideas, ask questions and work through learning opportunities.
I will be sharing more about the daily workings of our class, ways you can support your student and our school, closer to the start of the school year. I look forward to being a part of your child’s academic history and success. I can’t wait to meet you and get to know each one of your learning styles and fun personalities! It’s going to be a GREAT year!!!
