My name is Jennifer Fruend, and I am the music teacher at Ballentine. This year will begin my 27th year as an elementary music teacher, and my fifth year at Ballentine. I received my B.S. in Music Education from Missouri State University and spent 6 years teaching in Missouri. This is my 20th year in Wake County. I was honored to be chosen as “Teacher of the Year” in 2015 at Salem Elementary.
I enjoy playing the flute and ukulele. In college my marching band performed at the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade in New York and Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California. Our flute ensemble travelled to Chicago to perform at the Midwest Music Conference. It is really important to me to give my students opportunities to learn and explore in fun ways so they will grow to love music as much as I do!
My family lives in Fuquay-Varina, and I love teaching in my community! My husband Andrew and I have one daughter named Amelia, who will be in a junior at Fuquay High. We have four very loved dogs named Milo, Onyx, Sally and Lucy. We also have a cockatiel who loves to sing and talk. I enjoy spending time with my family, and my husband and I enjoy watching football together- Go Chiefs! I look forward to having a great year in music with your students!!!
