Western Heights Middle School

Applications are closed for the 2024-2025 school year.

Avenue B is designed to provide expanded opportunities to magnet students in the visual and performing arts. The ultimate goal of Avenue B is talent development for all students.

Avenue B is designed for students who have demonstrated talent or the potential for exceptional talent in the creative and performing arts. Any current Grade 5, 6, or 7 student may apply for Avenue B. Avenue B will be accessed via the audition/portfolio process, which mirrors the current criteria used for admission to the Barbara Ingram School for the Arts (BISFA). These creatively gifted and talented students will select a visual/performing arts concentration path, and participants will engage in appropriate advanced-level work to enhance and develop their talents. Avenue B applicants may apply for entrance to two (2) of the offered areas; Band, Orchestra, Chorus, Dance, Graphic Design, Creative Writing, Theatre, and Visual Arts. Students may enter into one area.

If Western Heights is not the middle school for your attendance zone, you will be granted special permission to attend but transportation is not provided.
