Installing Minecraft Education Edition on a Windows Computer

  • You will be taken to a Microsoft sign-on screen. If your WCCS account is already listed, select it. Otherwise press 'Use another account' and enter your WCCS email. Do not use your personal email or any other email address as this may prevent Minecraft from working correctly.

  • After signing in using your WCCS account, press 'Download'.

  • Scroll down the 'Download' page and click the 'Download Now' button.

  • An installer file will download to your computer. It will be called something similar to MinecraftEducationEdition_x86_1.14.70.0. After it has finished downloading, locate the file on your computer. It will most likely be in the 'Downloads' folder unless you chose to save it elsewhere.

  • Right-click on the file and press 'Open'.

  • The installer window will open. Follow it through to the end as per the following screenshots.

If prompted for an Admin password, you will need to enter the Admin password for your device. It should be the password you use to unlock your device.

  • You may be prompted to sign-in to Minecraft after it opens. If so, use your WCCS email and password.

Installing Minecraft Education Edition on an iPad

  • To play Minecraft Education Edition on an iPad you will first need to download the app from the App store.

  • After installing and opening the app, you will need to sign in with your WCCS account using your WCCS email and password.

Installing Minecraft on a MacOS device (Macbook)

  • The process of installing Minecraft Education Edition on a MacOS device is similar to the process for a Windows device. You will need to sign-in and download the installer from https://education.minecraft.net/en-us/get-started/download. Make sure your download the installer for MacOS and not for Windows or another platform.

  • After downloading the installer you need to run it and follow the prompts through to the end.

  • Once the installer has finished running, you should be able to open the Minecraft app and sign in with your WCCS account.
