Using Google Drive File stream, you can:
Save specific files and folders offline, including Team Drives.
View and organize your files in your computer’s file system.
Open files with apps installed on your computer.
See all of your files in Google Drive without using storage space on your computer.
The method of installing Google Drive File stream has changed. It is now available in the Software Center app for staff. Please refer to the following page for instructions: Installing Software Through Software Center
On a personal computer you can set up Google Drive to allow access to your Google Drive files while you are offline (not connected to the Internet)
1. login to your Google Drive account https://drive.google.com/
2. Click on the "settings" wagon wheel
3. Check the box to allow "Offline" access and click "Done"
NB this is not recommended on shared computers.
