Wireless Projection

Home > Staff > School Hardware > Other Devices > Wireless Projection

In classrooms where a wireless display dongle has been installed, you can connect and project from your staff laptop by doing the following:

Ensure the projector is powered on, and the correct HDMI input is selected.  You should see an image on the screen indicating that the wireless display adaptor is ready to connect.

Open the notifications panel by clicking the notifications icon in the bottom right corner of your screen, then click the "Connect" tile.

A list of nearby display adaptors will appear.  If your adaptor is not showing in this list, check that you have the projector powered on and the correct HDMI input selected.

Click on the adaptor name from the list that you wish to connect to.  If this is the first time you have connected to this adaptor, you will be prompted to enter a PIN that is displayed on the projector screen.  Type it in and press connect.  If you have previously connected, you machine will automatically connect.

Once connected, you should see black bar at the top of your screen indicating you are connected.  From this bar you are able to disconnect by clicking the "Disconnect" button.

You can also change the type of connection, by clicking the gear icon and selecting from the list that appears.

Note: Disconnect your laptop from the Wireless Display before turning off the projector or closing the lid of the laptop, not doing so will cause problems when trying to reconnect to the Wireless Display in the future
