Mrs. Peggy Dickerson is the School Counselor here at FIS. She is originally from Pocomoke, MD and attended Worcester County Public Schools...a graduate of Pocomoke High School. She received her teaching degree in Business Education in 1981 and her Masters Degree in Guidance and Counseling in 1990 from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
She has spent the majority of her career as a School Counselor. Her first seven years were spent in Caroline County at Federalsburg Elementary School where she was a School Counselor for K-5 grade students. This year will be Mrs. Dickerson's 23rd year at FIS, and she is as excited now as when she began here in 1998. She loves being a school counselor and everyday feels grateful to work with students, teachers, administrators, and parents. It has always been her desire to work with children; to help them effectively deal with a variety of problems and inspire them to do their personal best in their lives.

Ms. Dawn Forrer is the Student Advisor. She was born on the Eastern Shore and has resided in Salisbury for over thirty years. She has three adult children and a puppy named Tucker.
Ms. Forrer has over twenty years experience working with children and over fifteen years working in Wicomico County Public Schools. She holds a Bachelors of Science from Salisbury University and a Masters degree from Wilmington University.
She thoroughly enjoys encouraging and supporting students in her role and providing them the necessary resources to help them reach not only their academic, but personal goals as well.

Hey there, Fruitland Intermediate families and students! My name is Ms. Justice, and I am the new Special Education Counselor working between both Fruitland Primary and Fruitland Intermediate Schools. I am so eager and excited to meet you all even during this challenging time that we are in. I am a native of Salisbury, Maryland and even attended both Fruitland schools years ago. I received my Bachelor's degree in Special Education in 2011. Then, I received my Master's in School Counseling in 2014. I have been a school counselor for 3 years and a special education teacher for 6 years within Wicomico County.

I have two goddaughters ages 5 and 13.

Hi everyone! My name is Kaity Cook and I am the new school social worker for both Fruitland Primary and Fruitland Intermediate Schools. I am so excited to start working with you and your families and to see all your smiling faces, even through the masks!
I was born and raised in Salisbury, MD and attended both Fruitland Schools when I was your age! I went to Salisbury University and received my Bachelors in Social Work in 2017 then my Masters in Social work in 2018. Prior to being a school social worker, I was a mental health therapist for 2 years! I truly love working with students and their families, and helping them reach the best version of themselves!

I am a dog mom of a German Shepard named Wentz! (He is 2!)
I am the middle child! I have an older sister and a younger brother.
I have traveled all around the world and enjoy learning about different cultures.
Some of my favorite things; the Philadelphia Eagles, the beach with a good book, French fries, Dr. Pepper and sunflowers!
