This course offers you the unique opportunity to engage in a mixture of Achievement and Unit Standards related to Physical Education, Health and/or Home Economics. This may include, but is not limited to, Exercise Prescription, Outdoor Education, Sports Performance, Sports Nutrition and/or Sports Coaching.
These experiences will provide you with learning opportunities that will help build character, wellbeing and give insight into future employment opportunities related to the Health and Physical Education learning area.
Course Information
This course offers both theoretical and practical aspects of Physical Education and Outdoor Education. The focus will be on learning through experience and being hands on.

Students will be able to:
Demonstrate personal and social development in a range of activities
Demonstrate knowledge and technique in a fitness institution
Perform physical activities in an applied setting
Critically analyse key sociological issues and personal wellbeing
Plan, implement and review sport skill based sessions with junior students
A willingness to participate is a key requirement of this course. To do this, you must bring appropriate clothing for physical activities.
The junior Physical Education uniform is not required, but it is expected that you will have a full change of clothing (including running shoes) for each practical lesson.
There are no specific prerequisites for entry to the course and it is open to all Year 12 and Year 13 students.
All assessments will be internal, and we will aim for somewhere between 15 and 20 credits available. A range of Achievement Standards and Unit Standards are available to select from.
